Organised in collaboration by the Museum Division, the Department of Culture & Dzongkha Development and the Emerging Technology Division, GovTech Agency, this POAP commemorates a landmark event by Bhutan's government to explore the intersection of Bhutanese Cultural heritage and cutting-edge blockchain technology.
The primary objective of the hackathon is to initiate and foster a dialogue on how traditional Bhutanese art can be preserved, promoted, and monetized in the digital age through NFTs.
This initiative is part of the Royal Government of Bhutan's broader strategy to embrace digital transformation while ensuring the nation's unique cultural identity is maintained and celebrated.
Participants engage in intensive workshops, collaborative sessions, and competitive development challenges, all guided by experts in blockchain technology and digital arts, including guest speakers from Singapore Ms. Chanel Lee (Creator of Tasty Toastys) and Ms. Florence Ang (Marketing and Partnerships Director, Druk Asia). The event also serves as a platform for networking, learning, and sharing ideas among Bhutan's growing community of tech enthusiasts and cultural practitioners.
