In 2019, Anthony flew to Berlin for Blockchain Week to try and get closer to the Ethereum ecosystem. He had been studying it non-stop for almost 2 years straight, but primarily online only. It was his obsession and he couldn't get enough.
On the first day of DappCon, Anthony went upstairs and met a jolly man at a booth who gave him his first digital collectible and slapped a physical badge on his chest. He asked the man more about the collectibles, and they briefly chatted about sybil resistance and the challenges around it. This was actually the first time Anthony had engaged in a decent crypto conversation IRL and got to show that he had some knowledge. The man took a photo of Anthony, which he thought was funny, but he figured the man liked having photos of people who appreciated the collectibles. That was one of the first conversations Anthony had IRL about Ethereum, crypto, sybil resistance, etc., and he felt really proud of himself that he was able to have such an important and nuanced conversation, even if it was short.
Over four years later, it's mindblowing for Anthony to know that he gets to work at POAP and contribute to its amazing mission. He believes the team is incredible and the workplace has the best culture he has ever experienced. As a mission-driven person, Anthony goes to sleep knowing that he is contributing to something greater than himself.
