Proof of attendance for the opening of "Dune: Not For Spice" x BTMΞDLR - an AI art show in the metaverse inspired by the mad genius of Alejandro Jodorowsky's 1975 interpretation of the Frank Hebert sci-fi classic, DUNE... the most influential film to never be made.
Despite remaining unreleased, Jodorowsky's treatment is woven into the fabric of modern sci-fi both by it's bold and precise vision as well as being an incubator for the defining legends of the genre.
Featuring designs by Jean "Moebius" Giraud, HR Giger and Chris Foss, Jodorowsky had also secured an incredible cast including
Orson Welles as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen
David Carradine as Duke Leto Atreides
Udo Kier as Piter De Vries
Mick Jagger as Feyd-Rautha
&
Salvador Dalí as Shaddam IV Padishah Emperor, "the mad emperor of the Universe"
"I wanted to explore the use of AI driven by prompts from a world where AIs have been outlawed, driven by creative so far out there it was impossible in it's time. I felt it was appropriate on the heels of Android Dreams which explores a world where AIs are the focus and force us to ask the question what it means to be alive."
All works created by BTMΞDLR with inspiration from the aforementioned creators using a series of AI tools beginning with Midjourney.
